Privacy Policy

Nunu ("Nunu", "we", "us") is a language-learning app for Amharic, Tigrinya,
and Afaan Oromo. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Nunu is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13.
Information we collect
- Account information — if you create an account, we store your
email address and display name. You can also use Nunu without an account (an
anonymous profile stored on your device).
- Learning progress — lessons completed, XP, streaks, hearts,
daily goal, and your chosen course. If you have an account, this syncs to the
cloud so it follows you across devices.
- Device & technical data — standard information our
infrastructure provider records to keep the service running and secure (for
example, app version, device type, and error diagnostics).
We do not sell your data, we do not show
third-party ads, and we do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To provide the app, save your progress, and sync it across your devices.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
- To respond to your support requests, and — if you opt in — to send you
occasional updates about your learning.
How it's stored
Account and progress data are stored using Google Firebase (Google Cloud) on our
behalf. Data is protected in transit and at rest, and access is restricted so that
only you can read or write your own account data.
Subscriptions
If we offer paid subscriptions, purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do
not receive or store your payment card details; we only receive confirmation of
your subscription status.
Your choices & rights
- Access & update — view and edit your name and goal in the
app's Settings.
- Delete — you can permanently delete your account and all
associated data from Settings → Delete account, or by emailing us.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access,
correction, deletion, portability). Contact us to exercise them.
Children
Nunu is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you
believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete
it.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll post the new effective date here and, for
material changes, notify you in the app.
